If that sounds like some whimsical jargon left over from the medieval times, you are utterly and terrifyingly wrong. That kind of thinking will be what lands in prison scrubbing toilet bowls with your toothbrush while convicted child molesters bug you for a back rub. Don't give a back rub to anyone you don't want to--staying out of debt is staying out of prison these days. A kick in the groin to child molesters everywhere. Don't let them convince you that pushing a cart full of books through cell block D is fun--the librarians are human back-rub dolls inside. If you fall into debt you could be running for your back's life, chased by sweaty guys with mustaches and yellow teeth. The guards won't stop them. Nobody will.

While in debt, you can be prosecuted for crimes you did not commit, such as murder, extortion, treason. The reason for this is quite simply because when you do not pay your bills and end up in debt you are put on a list called Try These People First for Unsolved Crimes List, in which you are each, in the order of the list, brought up on charges for crimes that otherwise have yet to be solved. It's a big list (there is a lot of debt), but don't worry: there's a lot of unsolved crimes.
